Moderate Risk of Severe Thunderstorms from Southern Plains to Mid-Mississippi Valley

The NWS Storm Prediction Center is forecasting the development of tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds from central Oklahoma to parts of the Ozarks Friday afternoon and evening. A Moderate Risk area is in place across central and northeast Oklahoma, extreme southeast Kansas, and parts of southwest Missouri. THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A FEW STRONG TO VIOLENT TORNADOES…VERY LARGE HAIL…AND INTENSE DAMAGING WINDS OVER PARTS OF THE SOUTHERN PLAINS TO THE OZARK PLATEAU LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT.
