Ahead of a meeting of leaders of industrialized nations that is likely to be dominated by the crisis in Syria, Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain said Monday that he found some elements of the Syrian opposition worrying, but that he sought to keep open the option of arming those who want a democratic future.

Even before leaders had arrived for the two-day meeting, differences were evident on Sunday when President Vladimir V. Putin, who has supported the government of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria, warned against arming the rebels there.

Pray for God’s wisdom to prevail in the affairs of state. Pray for God’s intervention in order to bring His peace to the nations involved. Continue also to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God is not just above all principalities and powers, He is “far above” all principalities and powers.

“Far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
(Ephesians 1:21)

How President Obama plans to apply U.S. power in Syria, if he does so, remains lost not in the fog of war, but of indecision.

Two years into the uprising against President Bashar Assad, after more than 90,000 deaths, the White House said on Thursday that the U.S. would start providing arms to rebel forces. The rationale was Assad had used chemical weapons on a small scale in the conflict, thereby violating the red line Obama had set for him.

Pray that the Lord will grant clear insight, divine wisdom, and understanding to U.S. policy makers regarding the disposition of Syria. Our military leaders and their Commander in Chief need the “wisdom that is from above” to traverse the present Middle East mine field and to keep American interests paramount. Pray especially for the safety of all the Christians caught in the cross fire of the Syrian strife.

“Far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
(Ephesians 1:21)

The Supreme Court on Monday struck down an Arizona law that required people registering to vote in federal elections to show proof of citizenship, a victory for activists who say it discouraged Native Americans and Latinos from voting.

In a 7-2 vote, the court said the voter registration provision of the 2004 state law, known as Proposition 200, was trumped by a federal law, the 1993 National Voter Registration Act.

The state law was strongly opposed by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (Maldef) and Indian tribes. They said it deterred legal voters who did not have the required paperwork from registering to vote.

Pray that this nation be a nation of law and order for the sake of stability and safety for its citizens. Pray that state and federal regulations will become unified so that the blight of fraudulent voting will be eradicated. Pray also for righteous judges to rule in the courts of the land.

“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge Thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this Thy so great a people?” (1Kings 3:9)

bill that stigmatizes gay people and bans giving children any information about homosexuality won overwhelming approval Tuesday in Russia’s lower house of parliament.

Hours before the State Duma passed the Kremlin-backed law in a 436-0 vote with one abstention, more than two dozen protesters were attacked by hundreds of anti-gay activists and then detained by police.

The bill banning the “propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations” still needs to be passed by the appointed upper house and signed into law by President Vladimir Putin, but neither step is in doubt.

Pray for the eyes of the supporters of homosexuality to be opened and repent of their sin while there is yet time by God’s grace to do so. Pray that they will bow their knees in submission to His omnipotence and omniscience and seek His forgiveness.

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Cor. 6:9-10)

“You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”

(Lev. 18:22)

“If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them” (Lev. 20:13)

The planet is not a peaceful place, according to a painstaking analysis that quantifies the relative peacefulness of 162 nations.

Released last Tuesday, the seventh annual Global Peace Index assessed each country’s internal crime statistics, population trends and other factors – from the number of homicides to terrorist activity to prevailing economic conditions.

Its rankings are stripped of emotional underpinnings and are data-driven; there’s no “Kumbaya” in sight.

Pray for revival and transformation in America through the spread of the “gospel of peace” and for God’s mercy to prevail in the lessening of violence and crime. Pray that a “transformed” U.S. would return to God’s Word and His ways of blessing our nation as it honors His name above all names and His ways above all other ways.

“In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord, alone make me dwell in safety and confident trust.” (Psalm 4: 8)
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God … having girded your waist with truth … and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace …”
(Eph. 6:13-15)

The cost of health coverage under Obamacare remains one the biggest mysteries of the nation’s health care overhaul.

But nagging cost questions will slowly be answered this summer as insurers and state officials set 2014 health plan rates for people who buy coverage outside of work or purchase it through small employers.

Those two coverage areas – the individual and small group markets – face the biggest rule and cost changes next year, when the main provisions of the Affordable Care Act finally kick in.

Pray that the Lord would deliver this nation from the evils of Obamacare regarding issues of forced participation in the funding of abortion. Pray that equitable ways will be found to foster good health care in our nation with all of our established freedoms in place. Pray also for an upsurge of honesty to overcome the many deceptions that have characterized the presentation of required charges and qualifications for needed treatments. Pray especially for elderly citizens, who will face the emotional trauma of “sticker shock” when the truth is finally revealed.

“Do not kill the innocent.” (Exodus 23:7)

“Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to slay an innocent person.” (Deut. 27:25)

“Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.” (Psalm 51:6)

The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that human genes cannot be patented, a decision with both immediate benefits for some breast and ovarian cancer patients and long-lasting repercussions for biotechnology research.

The decision represents a victory for cancer patients, researchers and geneticists who claimed that a single company’s patent raised costs, restricted research and sometimes forced women to have breasts or ovaries removed without sufficient facts or second opinions.

Pray that the Lord would deliver us from thinking that we have control over human development beyond our spheres of righteous intervention. Ask the Lord to give us His understandings on how best to help others, but not transgress the bounds of God’s authority. Pray that true scientists will recognize the Creator rather than promote the arrogance of the researchers. Pray that we will cry out to our sovereign God for His help.

“For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:13)

Revelation 19:16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. This blog is to present Up To Date Prophetic News. My prayer is that this blog will bring others to know Jesus as their Savior if they do not know him the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
