A strong cold front will move through Friday and transition this rain into a mixture of rain, freezing rain, and sleet through Saturday morning. A brief lapse in the rain is expected Saturday afternoon before another round of wintry precip is expected late Saturday. Overall, between 3 and 5 inches of precipitation will be possible with some significant ice accumulations possible, mainly in the northwest third of the mid- state.
