God has great rewards for those who remain faithful
God Rewards Holy People
“Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.”
Revelation 3:12 KJV
“And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.”
Revelation 11:18 KJV
About this week’s promise:
Throughout the Bible, we see God giving rewards to his people according to what they deserve. In the Old Testament, obedience to God often brought rewards in this life (Deut. 28).
But obedience and immediate reward are not always linked. If they were, good people would always be rich, and suffering would always be a sign of sin. If we were quickly rewarded for every faithful deed, we would soon think we were pretty good people! Before long, we would be doing good deeds for purely selfish reasons.
While it is true that God will reward us for our earthly deeds (Rev 20:12), our greatest reward is eternal life in his presence.
