One of the questions I’m regularly asked is Pastor, can I commit a sin God cannot forgive? Sometimes the question is framed like this: Dr. Jeremiah, I think I’ve done something that God will not forgive. I’ve confessed my sin, but I don’t feel God has forgiven me, and I can’t forgive myself. Is it possible I’ve committed the unpardonable sin?
According to Jesus, there is one thing a person can do for which there is no forgiveness either in this age or in the age to come. There is truly an unforgivable sin. He described it as blaspheming against the Holy Spirit. But we are left wondering what those words really mean. What is the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? What is the unforgivable transgression? |

My heart goes out to those who ask such questions, for they are undoubtedly carrying an overwhelming sense of guilt for something they’ve done in the past. Please take a minute to watch this excerpt from a sermon I recently gave. It will answer this question for you, once and for all. <<=====VIDEO
